Whenever I use the Move, or Rotate tool the red, green, and blue things that you use to rotate or move the object are not showing, I have restated maya a few times but nothing changed.
You might want to try and reset the tool using the "Tool settings". That's located in the top right corner and it looks like a small hammer. You can also try and reset your preference to default and see if that helps.
