Good Evening,
this is my first time I wanted to use references. I was forced by the improvements over normal duplicating etc. to use them. Everything worked fine until now. I have created a screw-nut a screw and a grid. Before I have finished the screw-nut I have positioned all my screws into the holes of the grid 48 in total because I thought every change that I made will automatically be applied to the grid inside my "main" file. Unfornutally the screws are still without nuts. I don't want to reposition everything after I added something new on the screws etc.
So my setup is as follow:
nut.ma | 1 nut
screw.ma | 1 screw + 1 nut <- added the nut (parented it to the screw)
grid.ma | 1 grid + 4 screws
case.ma | 1 case + 12 grids <- still the old screws with no nuts
It's like inheritance and I thought it would be great but yeah ... this kind of issue sucks
I am adding new references via the add reference button within the reference editor.
Is there something I do wrong or is there even a better way to handle this kind of "workflow"?
