I haven't been able to find any examples of this problem pop up, so I apologize that I haven't been able to find the answer if it's out there somewhere.
So, I'm orienting the pivots on some pistons so the smaller piston will slide cleanly into the large one. (This is part of a model with two robotic arms). I would enter pivot editing mode, orient the pivot to the piston, hit "bake pivot", and then everything would work fine. Now, when selecting that piston in object mode, the pivot is listed under "object" in the move menu and everything works fine.
However, when I switch to the other arm and do the same exact process, once I hit 'bake pivot', the pivot point snaps back to the original position it was at. Now, when in the move menu, when I switch the pivot to custom, it is correct, but when the pivot is set to object, it remains at its previous, incorrect position.
I could get this to work when it comes to animating it later, but I would rather not be switching back and forth between pivot types between arms. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this discrepancy?
Note: The arm giving me the problem is the other arm that was exported as an OBJ, imported, then flipped to the other side of the body.
Thanks ahead of time!
