Tried deleting history on both objects before boolean?

Try moving one of the objects very slightly - and then boolean...

Sometimes if the geometry lines up strangely it can do this - or perhaps your geometry is just too complicated to boolean...

Hi Everyone.

This does not seem to be solved. I am able to boolean my object in Max but do the same process in Maya and the objects disapear. All my nodes are clean and the transforms are zeroed out. I feel like this is a major issue. Sometimes the workflow of a complicated object does not allow for transfering from Max to Maya, so it would be nice if this feature was more stable. Seeing how this thread is a few years old I am surprised that this feture still behaves like this. At this point it will take me close to 500% more hours to model the cross cut in my model without this operation. All I ask is to get similar results accross your software packages.

Thank you.

What version of Maya are you using. The boolean operation has been updated in maya 2015. It works much better than before but still a little slow in comparison to Max. When working with animated booleans to cut objects I find myself creating animated cache geo files to ensure a clean result when rendering.

I still have the same issue, 2020.

The objects are two simple cylinders, yet any boolean operation with them makes both objects dissappear, I did try cleaning the history.

There are different types of Boolean operations.
