I'm a student planning on taking on animation as a career and I've been getting back into modeling recently to get better. The thing is with today I tried to model some light post. I made one and then duplicated the object/combine them. Each time I did something though it seemed to add more to
the name for whatever reason. Right now it says the same name over and over again, and when I try to change the name it only puts the name I entered at the end of the name but never changes it completely. Here's a photo of the problem.
Does anyone know what is causing this problem and how I can fix/avoid it in the future?
I know it's hard to see but you can see the name and how it is completely clogging up my screen. I can't even change to select by object or face when right clicking anymore.

If anyone knows how I can fix this please let me know since this is really annoying me. Thank you!
