Not able to see image plane in side view.

I am a beginner and I am trying to follow a tutorial but I have this problem where I can see the image plane in my perspective view but I can't see it in my side view.  (In the image below) how would I fix this?

Ensure you have enabled display filters for that viewport, see Show submenu

Otherwise, it could be the distance between the camera and the image plane itself - you either increase the farClipping for the camera or move the plane closer to the origin.
