Multi-Cut Tool not working in Maya 2022

Hi! I had install new clean version of Maya 2022 but Multi-Cut Tool not work at all. I pressed Ctrl-key, in object mode (and all others too) and I can`t see any edge loop lines, tool not snapping to verticeses and works if make manual cut beyond object place only (attached). I use Maya approximately 5 years and last my version was 2018 and all worked perfectly. Restart not helped. The tool works fine sometimes but randomely and I dont know by what reason. Language of keyboard is ENG, I not installed any scripts and plugins. I need to work, please help!

The tool works like this only.

Hi Sean,

You should have started a separate topic for this one.

It appears the Pivot Orientation Handle preferences is affecting the mirror tool. This is clearly a bug so I've logged an issue to track this.

MAYA-121383 - Poly Mirror: rotation handle affected by pivot manipulator preference

Thanks.

Sherwin, is that you? I'm in 2022.2 and the rotate handle is there, make sure history is turned on and also try pressing t right after you perform the mirror cut, I don't see the little history edit box that should appear after doing a mirror cut in your screenshot.

I just tested on Win using 2022.3 and when I do a mirror cut, the manipulator is there with rotation.

As for the cut not showing up/happening - do you have symmetry on?

Thanks Malcolm.

I can reproduce this when I have a 3D View + UV Editor + DirectX 11 rendering as shown in your setup.

I have opened an issue to track this:
MAYA-121603 - Multi-Cut tool not working after starting Maya in DirectX 11 mode

Hey - I don't see a response here. I just tried this in 2022.3 and see the usual manipulator. Are you not seeing the entire thing - as you mentioned the rot handles seemed to be missing.2022.3_mirror_cut.jpg

hi catherine. thanks for looking into it. i also found the cause. for some reason the manipulator orientation was turned off. i assume this happened during an upgrade. i'm not sure why anyone would want it turned off. see the screen shot above

ok i repeat some time to make sure this is not just random fix illusion. but you can try also change the viewport (nothing fancy just press 2X the spacebar for me switch to 4 panel viewport and again 2X to bring back perspective) something like to refresh the viewport i dont know i m not a engineer.

go to panel -> tear off... then close the poped up viewport, back in maya hold space and go to perspective, thats it
