Multi-cut tool doesn't snap to points.

So... I've been using multi-cut tool and it was working fine. I hovered over a point on my polygon object, it snapped and then I clicked on another point, hit enter and boom there's a slice.

But for some reason it doesn't work now. The tool just doesn't snap to those points on my object and when I click with the multi-cut tool, it just creates the point somewhere behind totally out of the object.

I can edit the object in any other way (such as deleting vertices and lines, moving vertices and lines etc.)

Btw. when I created a new polygon cube and tried the multi-cut tool on that cube, it works fine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, so the problem is with my object.

(for some reason I can't attach the project to this post, it gives me this error: "The attachment's catmodelasd.mb content type (application/octet-stream) does not match its file extension and has been removed.")

What I've tried: resetting multi-cut tool, cleaning up the object, deleting history of the object, restarting Maya, resetting preferences to default, resetting Maya to default (using this tutorial https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Reset-May...)

Even after that, it doesn't work, do you have any idea, what might be wrong with my object? I attached a short video where I show how it doesn't work.

Hi,

What happens if you delete history (Edit > Delete By Type  > History) or freeze transformations? (Modify > Freeze Transformations)

As a last resort you can always try resetting your preferences.

Just adding for anyone having this issue and finding this via google, I fixed mine by exporting the part as obj and importing it again, something obviously went wrong with it under the hood but it's not clear what. Just glad I didn't need to delete my prefs 😂

Solved! for me, all I had to do was close the project, open another one and use the multi cut tool, then go back to the previous project. Seems to have worked
