modeling with cv curve, can i remove the curve ?

Hello, my friend is letting me use his laptop for autodesk maya while i'm not at school.

I'm modeling an object by extruding along a cv curve, yet every time i try to delete/remove the curve from the object the object itself becomes skewed or collapses on itself.

My question is, is there a way to remove the curve without disrupting the object ? below are skreenshots of my issue. original, skew, and collapse.KHORG.jpgKHERROR1.jpgKHCOLLAPSE.jpg

Hi!

As long as your as you have an existing history any deletion of a node that is part of your history and changes topology may screw up your model. So select your object and then in Main Menu: Edit -> Delete by Type -> history. If you want to keep history you can just hide your curve. Select your curve and

A) in Attribute Editor: curveShape -> Object Display -> Intermediate Object (check)

or

B) simply hide (CTRL + h).
