Maya freezes and crashes after duplicating bought Model / Chromium Host Executable

I will sometimes get reports and other times not. Atm I have issues when duplicating a model, after two or three it will give up ( even though I've worked with much higher polygon counts ). Also the Chromium Host Executable on my Task Manager seems high, I'm not sure yet how it looked before though... Power usage will go Very high and crash. I've worked on much bigger Projects in Class and animation Films and never had this problem. Started having issues with Maya some days ago when I used a model I bought and was still running with mental ray. After I converted the model on an external programm I didn't have any issues. Also the Model I am trying to duplicate, I've worked with in the past and never had issues. I read so much online, what can I do before reinstalling Maya, I also had renamed the Prefs folder some days ago.. It seems thought that there is a problem with the file..

Try duplicating a different model, maybe there's still a problem with the current one.

Hey, thank you for the fast response!! I did, I used a completely different one I had worked before with and had also in that project duplicated several times with no problems what so ever...
