How to create a face between 3 edges/vertices?

Hi, I'm a noob at maya, just started a few weeks ago, but i come from a strong 3d background in Blender. So heres my problem....Screenshot 2016-08-31 10.08.05.png

It may be hard to see, but i'm selecting three edges there, and no matter what i do, i can't figure out how to create a face between them. In blender all you did was press "F" for fill, but I cant find anything in maya. Using "fill hole" just fills up the entire space like so...Screenshot 2016-08-31 10.11.11.png

Obviously this isn't what I want. Here's another screenshot from Blender to demonstrate what I'm after...

I'm sure this is easy, but after all my time searching I couldn't find anything.

Thanks in advance.

One option is to select the two parallel edges on the hole and use bridge.

@brentmc I'm sorry, I'm searching all over as well and can't find an answer to this either; how would you do this if you have 3 vertices, not two edges?

Hi,

Can you provide a scene file or screenshot?

Thanks.
