Hey,
I'm trying to extrude faces along a curve while keeping the faces perpendicular to the curve.
What I'm trying to do is create a 3d version of a circular waveform. I want to bevel the edges so it will look like a liquid once textured in maya.
I'll try to include as much information as possible as this is pretty hard to explain.
This is the waveform in illustrator:
This is what it looks like once imported to Maya as a curve:
This is the shape I'm trying to extrude along the outer curve:
And this is the result. The only setting I have altered is the divisions. Which is set to 1000
The result is kind of odd. The divisions are not spaced evenly along the curve and some sections seem to rotate. This is why I'm wondering if I can force the shape to remain perpendicular to the curve.
I understand that the curve is probably too detailed for this to work properly.
Also if there is a better way to achieve what I want I would be interested in hearing about it!
Thank you in advance for any help!
