I checked your video it is quite weird. Please confirm there are not any extra faces selected and at the first your video 0:01 your cylinder faces are changed that should not be changed  and if you have any specific file you can upload it here and please mention what Maya version and update you are using Maya 2018, 2018.2, 2018.3, 2018.4

Hi!

Curves have a start and end point.

Select curves and then use in main menu:

Curves -> Reverse Direction.
