Connect 2 mesh

Helle everyone,

I am trying to modelize a large territory using LiDAR data in order to create a unity VR application.
I have divided those data for the process but the meshes I get are not well connected. (In fact, the border of the parts always fit in X and Y coordinates but they have small difference in Z)
Does anyone know a way to fill the holes between two parts ?
Is there a way to modify the border edges of the two parts to set them on the average ?
Thanks a lot !

hi dude,

This is a well know issue.

You may need to reconstruct the geomety with Zbrush using the Dynamesh. You may need to use the Zplugin called "Decimation Master" to decimate then.

Beside that, you can use Mesh->fill hole in Maya

Hi!

Why not doing this manual?

Just use the Target Weld tool, it should not take too much time.

If that's a 3dScan from Lidar, there might be a tons of holes because of the patch registration.

The fill hole function, might greatly help if he doesn't want to use Zbrush.

Hi!

@stuzzz

What holes?

Based on the provided screenshot and other information there is only one "clean" border from parts that where separated previously and now need to be connected again.

However I also recommend to try Fill Hole, but this will require/add some extra space or you need to delete one row of faces.

Plan A was to use zbrush.

Plan B which is not the best one is to use fill holes. If he connects each side of the patchs, that will be a hole... he then select the neighboor faces and apply the function. When it's done a simple clean mesh on the selection will do the job.
