colour picker not working correctly on my mac :(

Ive had this problem for quite some time with maya, but the colour picker never seems to working correctly for me,

Ive currently using the apply colour tool, and when i click the picker, the screen zooms in to a portion of the screen which invariably means what I want to pick has disappeared 😕

Im using a MacBook pro with an external screen (although I still have the issue without the external).

Would anybody know how to fix this, as its very inconvenient

I just did some testing on our Mac machine here, but I was unable to reproduce this problem.

Are you on Update 4?

You can try to reset your preferences, and restart Maya.

Follow this guide: Reset Maya to Default

Let me know if that helps.
