attributes not available when selecting an object

When working after a while the attributes disappear and I have to restart Maya.
Any clues to why this is happening?
( have reinstalled the software and chucked the prefs )

It looks like this may be due to history and/or how the object is grouped?

If you click within the group in the Outliner do the attributes appear again? What if you delete history on the model and then check the attributes?

Also, what version of Maya are you working with and is it up to date?

Im using maya 2018.5 on gtx980. ( however the same issue happening on 3
other machines with newer certified cards.

I have descovered a temporary solution to the issue.
For some reason sometimes the prefs get corrupted.

When that happens I can not save files and experience random crashes.
After deleting the prefs I can save again .. yay .. but this problem
returns after a day or 2.

It is NOT a defenite solution. Please let me know if you have one.

Do you have any ways to consistently reproduce this?

As of right now it seems a bit random and I can't easily reproduce it which makes finding a fix very difficult.

The issues : attributes sometimes dissapearing, plugin settings of
different renderengines swiching off without a reason, corrupted
preferences and several random crashes keep happening on a daily base in
2018.5 on different machines.
Unfortunately the issue is NOT resolved. However the issues are not
reproducable and indeed quite random.
When I do find something that is reproducable I will file a bugreport.
