All objects disappear entirely from viewport and outliner

I closed Maya 2018 and reset my preferences to default at the suggestion of another forum in order to fix an issue with my hotkeys and reopened it to find my objects have disappeared entirely from the viewport and outliner. However, the data still remains as the file is still 2,446 kb and when I open the file in Notepad, everything still seems to be there. However, when I try to open it in Maya, it becomes the 65 kb file with nothing in it. Is there still a way to recover the contents of the file?

The scene can be restored.

Open with Text Editor and then :

1. Replace all

nan(ind)

with

0

2. Replace all

nan

with

0
