"Moving verts specially for environments after freezing transforms is a real pain and let's face it, i'm a advocate of keeping history at all costs grouping nodes, but as the complexity of items become larger or weird histories or simply a necessary combine, (although I use my own scripts for combining and detaching meshes to avoid meshes loosing their initial local orientation). Most of these issue could be amended if every operation that wiped out your transforms retained a separate history of it, that you could pulled down from your tool settings, under axis orientation, like a previous transform nodes recorded from this mesh, A, B, C, etc... (axis set to normal sometimes help or set to face but either have side effects or not fully clean or require straight lines at a time). So wouldn't this be great!? After 15+ years using maya to see a feature like this at its core. Let say you combined meshes, both axis would be recorded, in case desired in the future, wouldn't necessary have to an amazing solution like remember faces and such, just a simple record of the way the axis were before, under the pulled down area, saving people tons of time, instead of having to go back to a previous version or deal with tweaks after the product looked like it was in a finished state. Thanks in advance."
