I am considering picking up Maya LT, the lighter sibling to Maya and am wondering if there are any restrictions between using models or animation data between to the two software suites?

I own Maya 2017, which I use on my primary workstation.. but would like to also use Maya LT for games with Stingray on perhaps a laptop.

For import, Maya LT support mayaAscii and mayaBinary format, so you can load .ma and .mb files in Maya LT, however any unsupported nodes are removed.

But for export, Maya LT don't support mayaAscii and mayaBinary format. So you can export Maya LT scene file as FBX, and then import it in Maya.
