Hi vfxisaac,

I realize I replied on the Steam thread, but I would like to get the answer here as well, for any other people who are having the same issue.

While Autodesk is working to expand the availability of its products online in as many countries as possible, we have not managed to get to them all yet. For Mexico, as mentioned, we do have Maya and 3ds Max available. Maya LT is still currently only available through a reseller. I will be looking into this situation, but I cannot make any guarantees. For now I would recommend going through a reseller directly, and checking back regularly to see if the online purchase becomes available in the future.

I've been running into issue after issue with the latest update through Steam, so I can't say I'm all that sad to see it go..

Except that Maya LT isn't available for the latest versions of Mac OSX and won't even install on my system unless it's through Steam. When will LT support OSX 10.12.4 and are there any options for those of us who use this software professionally in the meantime?  Our studio is going to come to a standstill next month when my sub ends.

Hi Wesley /a guy

Thanks for the replies both here and on the steam thread. Right now as you said, the best option is to get Mayalt from a reseller.

So far 2 out of 12 resellers i contacted offer Mayalt at least on Mexico, since it's not a very solicited software.

I'll leave their contact website here in case anyone from my country finds this answer:

And

Thanks again 🙂

Hi,

What problems are you running into trying to install Maya LT on Mac OS 10.12.4?

The default install returns a failure at the end of the installation process, but Maya LT is still installed.

You will need to follow these instructions here to install the missing component

You do not explain why you have removed it from Steam but i have my idea, the hidden reason is because on the Software > Animation & Modeling store of Steam we had the choice between two software: Blender with a score of 5/5 and thousand of positive reviews and Maya LT with a score of 2/5 with dozens of comments almost all negative about the missing feature and crashes and you weren't allowed to moderate it to delete negative comments. New users and even pro game artists could easily compare them and some would give a try to Blender after seeing the reviews.

In Maya LT Transfer Map to bake maps is deleted, there were a polycount limit for export at 10k tris now 100k (why put a limit?), the software often crashes, poor updates, bad new UI. It does much less than his free alternative even for the full version and you have chosen to remove it to hide the negative comments.

I am inclined to think you are right. Autodesk business practice gets worse every year.
