Hi, iam new to Maya LT,  have imported a Body object, a skeleton-object , and created a rig for my charakter. The rig is not the standard-rig  , it is in shape of the kinect device.

When i load my project sometimes that problem in the following picture occurs:

When i load an other scene and reload the scene it sometimes disappears.

I have tried to choose the joint in the "Paint Skin Weights Tool" and removed the influence  wich were displayed.

Does some have ideas on this problem ?

Hi mathias.krill

This looks to me like not all your mesh's verts are skinned. If you have verts that aren't fully skinned (IE 100% influenced by at least 1 joint), they will pop to the origin like that.

You can try to reskin it.

Select your mesh, select the entire joint chain (by selecting the root joint), then use Skin -> Bind Skin and choose the Geodesic Voxel Binding option for optimal results.

The other option is to try to paint those weights back. Select the joint you want to influence the verts that are at the origin, then paint those verts at 100% and they should pop into place.

If that fails to solve your problem, then maybe post your file here and I'll take a look at it.
