LT Ext2 SP3 Clean new iMac i7, 4gb video, 32gb ram
MayaLT freezes every 20-30 mins, if I can actually load it up in the first place.
These are low-poly mesh objects with only UVs exported to Unity, Im not making a movie.
I rarely get a maya crash report dialog so i have to manually send in a bug report.
The odds of this behavior on 2 new machines with the same symptoms are too high.
very frustrated and losing work time. I guess its time to cancel and permantly move on.

Hi there, as a general note crashing every 20-30 minutes is not the normal experience in Maya LT, I'm not sure exactly what is happening in your case.

Are you on Steam or the non Steam version, also what video card are you using?  You mentioned another machine, was it the same kind of setup?

Not Steam, regular install with Autodesk Subscription.
Both machines are 27" iMacs with intel Core i7's
32GB Ram, NVidia GeForce GTX 780m 4GB
I was running better until SP3, but I wasn't crash free before either.
These are simple low-poly meshes with simple UVs exported to Unity.
No animation, rigging, or anything but UVs with a Phong Shader.

Hi Greg,

We suspect your problem could be related to a performance issue some people are having with SP3.  There is a workaround here on the forum, hopefully it'll help in your situation.

The post is here: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-lt-general/selection-performance-issue-with-maya-lt-2015-sp3/td-p...

If you unfamiliar with how to set Environment Variables on a Mac, there are instructions in the Maya LT 2015 help here:

http://help.autodesk.com/view/MAYALT/2015/ENU/?caas=caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-do-I-add-an-e...

Let us know if this helps.

Removing all connections back to Autodesk from my Help menu seemed to have worked on my 2015 instalation.
Installing 2016 this morning, I noticed the offending feature has been removed.
So far so good

Hi Greg,

I'm assuming when you say removing connections back to Autodesk, you are talking about the Customer Involvement Program and Desktop Analytics?

They are still present in 2016, but under a slightly different menu. You'll find them under "Help>Speak Back".

Before you remove yourself from them in 2016 though, we'd appreciate it if you kept yourself in both just to see if your problems have been fixed in 2016.  Then if you are still having issues, remove yourself as you did before.

If you prefer not to do this, that's ok, but it would be valuable feedback for us to have someone in the field let us know if there are still problems.  Totally up to you though.

Let us know how 2016 goes for you.

Regards,

Carlos

Understand, it did help me with 2015.
I will turn it back on in 2016, as soon as i finish this task. I need to get it done

and not test things right now.

Thanks for your help
