Can Autodesk provide a way to convert MLT files to MA/MB?

Since Maya LT is now discontinued, I would really a way to convert all my MLT files to MA/MB files - is there any chance of something like that? Or, alternatively, adding a way to *open* MLT files in new versions of Maya (e.g. Maya Creative)?

you can already do this in Maya 2023

straight from the help:

Note: Maya doesn't save scene files in .mlt format, but you can load them. When opening a .mlt file in Maya, resave the file in .ma or .mb format.

Yes, Autodesk provides a way to convert MLT files to MA/MB formats. The process involves using the built-in export functionality in Autodesk Maya, which allows you to save the MLT file as an MA or MB file.

Here are the steps to convert an MLT file to MA/MB in Autodesk Maya:

  1. Open the MLT file in Autodesk Maya
  2. Go to File > Export All/Selection
  3. In the export dialog, select either the .ma (ASCII) or .mb (Binary) format as the file type
  4. Choose a location to save the converted file and name it
  5. Click the Export button to convert the MLT file to the desired format.
