SSAO in Viewport 2.0 should support alpha channel transparency

"Please don't render ssao on top of the areas of a model that has an alpha channel transparency applied to it. This technique is the default setting in all game rendering engines, otherwise you will see an outline of the geometry even though the alpha channel is trying to make it transparent."

Hey Folks, 

 

In Maya 2017.3 support for transparent shadows was added to Viewport 2.0 - so both SSAO and viewort shadowing will respect transparency maps. This feature is supported by the standard Maya materials.  If you are using a material that does not work with this feature - please let us know. If your material comes from a 3rd party plug-in and does not support this - please let the 3rd party know.   Thanks.
