Currently, when we change the translation axis of an object using the D/INSERT key or with the "Edit Pivot" button, it changes the position of the origin point, works well:

But the same does not happen with the rotation, when I change the rotation axis it changes to a "custom" orientation, and if I go back to Object orientation it goes back to the previous rotation position:

To deal with this problem I saw some people who solved this creating a parent object with the right rotation to reset the position of wrong rotationated object and then the rotation changes, later they exclude the parent object, but it takes a lot of work for a simple action of changing the rotation axis of some object.
So my suggestion was to create a new checkbox, or some way to configure it so that I can simply "edit pivot" editing the rotation of the object directly, without needing any trick.
I am new to Maya and as I have not found answers to this simple "problem" anywhere I am putting the suggestion here. If there is any way to enable this somewhere, please let me know, I will deal a lot with object manipulation and this is a very good differential for me.
Thanks!!
(I'm using Maya 2020)
