New and Updated Playblast Options for Format & Encoder

New and Updated Playblast Options for Format & Encoder

Most, if not all, Universities and higher educational institutions are unable to install the Quicktime on PCs (Windows), even without the player because there are security issues.
AVI is so old and outdated, even Adobe is discontinuing AVI support.  I understand that we can still use image sequences, but in classroom environment, it'll be easier and faster for my students to playblast and submit their animations without opening another program to export the image sequence into a viewable video file.
Autodesk, can you please provide a MP4 format with H.264 for playblasting in Maya?
Thank you!

+1 H.264 encoding should be a default option at this point. I've had to run around in forums and youtube videos and try a bunch of solutions to get something to work. H.264 encoding is so basic at this point, it saves serious time & space to provide this for users.

the playblast is really poor.

I have to take screenrecordings instead when I want to show something (which is no good solution)

I'm stunned by the ignorance of Autodesk. How many years has an update to playblast export formats now been requested?

No, cached playback does NOT fix the issue nor replace playblast.

Please for love of god add something more modern for Windows users not just let your mods repeat "InStaLl QuIcKtImE, It ShUoLd FiX yOuR iSsUe" to every user who doesn't want to use a 30 year old deprecated and outdated file format.

No, we don't want to use a codec that was last updated in 2016 with security issues in professional production environment.

Everything everybody above has said, going back to about 2016. Is there STILL no solve for this, SEVEN YEARS LATER? How is that even possible? Hey Autodesk: don't you think it's about time you did something about this?

It's NINE YEARS now!
