MAYA Selection Polygons

Hi everyone,

 

I just started working with Maya, but I immediately had a problem:

I open Maya, I make any shape, eg Polygon of a cylinder, then I select it in part to change its shape. Thus the usual three colored AXES appear with the ends of the cubes, which can be modified by selecting them. But with the left mouse button, I CANNOT select anything and then change the original shape !!!!!

What should I do ????

Just to make it clear ... when it appears to me as the attached photo, the three axes to make a deformation, I CANNOT select anything !!!!!!

This forum is for new feature ideas, not support questions. 

That said, you want to enter component mode to change your object in the way you're describing.  The simplest way is to hit F8 and move the vertices however you like.  Other keys like F9, F10, F11 will select various components like edges, faces, etc.

sorry but I've already tried as you say .. it doesn't work 😞
