Maya needs to have individual object history

Maya needs to have individual object history

I use Maya for most modelling, but also use Zbrush for high-res details and organic sculpting.

One thing I like about Zbrush is it's ability to hold a history for each individual object in a scene. With Maya, everything is just kept in one history.

So if I make changes to an object then move on to another, then need to go back and change what I did on the first object, I have to undo everything rather than just the changes made to the one object I need to undo.

With Zbrush, each individual object has it's own history so undoing changes to one object has no effect on any other object.

I think Maya would benefit greatly from this addition.

good idea! 👍

There are two options; Delete All History and Delete History for an Object.

That said, I stopped using the latter, as doesn't do the job while the former sometimes does.

Having more control over object's history is very welcome.

It‘s the same like a modifier stack in 3ds Max and a nondestructive construction history.  Both also on the highly voted topics.

Most important is it for Bevel for me. Something you need to update or adjust or even deactivate frequently during modeling process.
