You can try this Maya Script https://gumroad.com/l/KJlnz but beware you may need to kill a scriptjob   , so 

scriptJob -kill $job_string -force;

a non-destructive chamfer/bevel that is. Now with Booleans and retopo new workflows and possibilities chamfer begs for some improvements. It's like icing on the cake
