Once we had T-Splines now we are stuck with mayas derelict nurbs toolset that doesn't really talk with the polygon workflow which has too many limitations. Alias is now finally graced with a an almost true hybrid subd workflow instead of Maya. But we need proper hybrid subd in Maya for serious modelers too! Alias is too expensive and too specifically developed for over defined surfacing and not for fast subd modelling. Bring back something similar to T-Splines and make it work with curves and all the typical nurbs operations but keep the simplicity of subd.
