Alembic and bifrost cache files cause us grief every time we move the project to another computer. In the Attribute editor/AlembicNode it shows the path as relative (cache/alembic/s_alembic.abc) but in the Maya.ma file the path is absolute so when moved to a different computer the caches are missing when you open the file. Even though the caches are in the correct folder for the project.
If you reimport the cache files while in Maya, the caches lose their materials, timing, and position in the timeline.
The current solution is to edit all the cache paths in the .ma file back to relative paths.
Proposed solution # 1: have a checkbox in AlembicNode that correctly shows Abs/Rel when checked.
Proposed solution #2: Have Alembic and bifrost caches show in the File Path editor. Why they aren't there is mystery. Thanks.
