I have been programming nodes for over 20 years. A node feature I have always been missing was the option to put child attributes under a compound attribute for pure organizational purpose.
Currently, all child attributes of a parent (and the parent, too) are considered 'dirty' when one of them is in a direct attributeAffects relationship with an input attribute.
So thats really a bad thing. Organizing attributes in the connectionEditor and initialize function without meddeling with the 'dirty' status would be just great. Often, I have so many attributes that its really painful to navigate through the connection editor without some sort of organizing hierarchy. Maybe something like MFnFolderAttribute?
