Attribute ediotor

Attribute ediotor

It would be helpful if the order that attributes are showing (in the channel box) could be changed. As an example if you have created a new set of attributes that are numbered like below:

Article 2002: bool

Article 4004: bool

Article 6006: bool

Later you have to put in another 3 attributes with other numbers. Then the new values will be put at the bottom of the pile, like this

Article 2002: bool

Article 4004: bool

Article 6006: bool

Article 1001: bool

Article 3003: bool

Article 5005: bool

This looks messy and it can be very time consuming to rearrange them, especially if attributes are connected to a complex node network. It would be nice to a have buttons that allow you to move an attribute up or down the list (see image below).

There are some plugins that will change the order of attributes.  Here's one:

I agree it would be nice to have this built-in.

Agree. Isn't that another example of an general overall UI problem of Maya?

So many things aren't sorted or miss sorting features or aren't easy to read...

(similar like having in the Connection Editor no search function etc.)

If one UI designer and one developer and one long-time user would meet, and go through each panel, through each workflow, they could rewrite and rethink the complete user interface.

Searching and using always scripts is not a solution, Basics should be implemented.

Completely agree with you @BenediZ Would be great if AD did that, especially for the main menus like channel box, attribute editor, shelf (get rid of it imo), outliner. They could all do with revisiting.
