Your System Has run out of Application Memory Maya 2024 MAC

When attempting to retopologize my character for a school project I am now getting a constant pop up that claims that my system has ran out of application memory. Upon looking at the pop up it gives an outrageous number of like 30-50 GB of memory being consumed. Now ive tried clearing my logs, caches and, tmp files but nothing seems to work. I also tried setting an ogs gpu memory limit to 4GB, but that didn't do anything. Does anyone know what going on?

Ok, by some god given miracle I'm pretty sure I solved the Issue. Doing a bit more research I stumbled onto an Animation Mentor Forum, and although my problem seemed a bit different at first I followed what was said and resolved my issue by changing my reference option to "load no references" and then changing my file from Maya Binary, back to Maya ASCII. *Before I did this I cleared all History and Non-Deformation History Data*
