XGen Preview not work - impossible to work

Hi,

XGen Preview not working well in Maya 2016 & 2017, so impossible to make the hair style, hair preview always different, hair not follow exactly the guides...

could you help me, any solution?

I cannot imagine other artist how can work with XGen, seems fully bug. I tried Maya 2016 SP6, Maya 2016 EX Sp2, Maya 2017 SP1, all have preview problem. I Installed 2 different nvidia driver - same problem, I have gtx 970.

Try turning off "Only primitives in the View" On the preview/output tab. Looks like your active camera frustum is clipping the scalp so that XGen thinks that those faces are out of frame. You can also increase the padding angle.

For the others, it looks like you have primitives growing where there are no guides and they are following the nearest reachable guides. An example scene or more info would be useful to help track down what might be cuasing your issues.

Many Artists are using XGen and getting great results, but it take a bit of practice.

Yes I think XGen is great tool and easy to control the hair almost, and I see many artist make with it amazing hairs. Yes I need more practise.

Xgen core (not interactive) is not artist friendly at all and is full of bugs and weird dependencies. I would suggest trying gout interactive groom or just purchase the Ornatrix plug in. Ornatrix is amazing and by far the superior tool for grooming.
