Xgen - How to export an Archive Primitive Type to geometry? (or: how to use modifiers on an Archive type?)

I have an Xgen collection for grass in a scene I'm working on. I needed something quick, easy, and low-poly, so I quickly made a patch of grass in geometry, then made an archive primitive type Xgen description, and made a density mask on my ground so that there are patches of dirt and paths. This was months ago, and now I'm at the point where I've got an animated character and an animation in the scene, almost ready for render.

My objective is for the grass to be pressed down to the ground under the character's feet so that the grass doesn't clip into the character's legs. (The grass is decently long, so it's very noticeable and doesn't look good) I knew that there were xgen modifiers that would allow you to do effects like this, so I tried to use that, but I guess, you can't use modifiers on Archive Primitive Types. (Whenever I try, I get the error: "CollisionFXModule ignored since it doesn't work on active primitive ArchivePrimitive.") I then thought I could convert the grass to geometry, and try and use a rough method that way, but apparently, you can't convert Archive Primitives into geometry. (Error message: "Unsupported primitive type: ArchivePrimitive for description "grass_description5"")

I'm really just looking for a quick and dirty method. The grass is already not very well done, but I've got a bit of a deadline so anything that gives me the effect I'm looking for would be great. It doesn't need to be the cleanest or most efficient method, as long as it'll work for the time being.

Any help or feedback would be extremely helpful!! Thanks!
