Xgen groomable splines error

Anonymous

When generating a new description using xgen's groomable splines, on imported geometry, an error message appears and no groomable splines are generated. Have attempted to change every single name, of every single file in the directory, so that nothing has spaces and made sure the material was set to Lambert.

C:/Users/Eric/Documents/maya/projects/default/xgen/collections/lion__ns__collection6/description11/groom/region/Group4861.ptx (Part of path doesn't exist)
C:/Users/Eric/Documents/xgen/description11/groom/region/Group4861.ptx (Part of path doesn't exist)
C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2019/plug-ins/xgen/presets/description11/groom/region/Group4861.ptx (Part of path doesn't exist) //

Can't find any solution to this. Latest 2019 maya version on latest windows OS. Have looked for other message forums addressing this issue and there doesn't seem to be any easy working way of solving this. There has to be some way of resolving this without having to deal with worrying about making sure EVERY single file doesn't have a space in it. Just seems some what absurd. Would be nice if Xgen's functions would actually just work, without having to deal with one technical hurdle after the next. But I guess that's Maya for you.

Hi @Anonymous

Looking at the file path "lion__ns__collection6" might be the problem.

Can you try deleting the __ __ so it just reads "lionnscollection6" and see if that works?

Hey, thanks for responding. I figured out a simple work around. If you duplicate the geometry and use the duplicated geometry, instead of the original imported geometry, Xgen seems to like that better, for whatever reason. Simple solution.
