Hi all,
After hours and hours and a lot of rework and frustration with this issue, I found something that helps me and I hope it can be useful for you too.
the error:
// Error: line 1: XGen: Candidate guides have not been associated! UmaV5,Head_Center_Var
Everything was working nicely, no history was deleted, the connectivity.xgc file was correctly on the folder, the description was correctly on the outliner, and everything was working nicely until I close and opened Maya, and then this error appeared.
01 - Start by selecting the Description, then select all guides.
02 - Go to Utility tab > Guides to Curves > Apply, (basically you are saving your guides as splines)
03 - All the splines should be on the Outliner.
04 - Select the "Scalp" mesh,
05 - Go to Description>Bind Patches> Remove selected Faces
06 - Keep the "Scalp" mesh selected and Add the geometry again.
07 - Select all splines
08 - Convert all of them to guides again.
After that your hair should appear again, basically what we did here was to define new guides to the mesh and description.
Hope that would be helpful, if you have any questions would be great to discuss them.
Thank you for your time 🙂
