X Gen Dynamic Guide Failure

Hello!

I am trying to create a dynamic guide for my rig's hair, but it keeps failing and giving me a message that says Make Dynamic Guide Failed. I have tried making a dynamic guide on a sphere with X-gen in the same file and it worked perfectly there. I have my scalp parented to the head as well. Here is my file for more access:

Oh my goodness I have been parenting my scalp to the wrong joint this entire time! It has successfully created a dynamic guide for me! Thank you if you took the time to read this.
