Would it be acceptable to do our plan?

I'm a student in the ninth grade in Japan. I'm learning about computer graphics with the software of Autodesk,Maya.

Now,I'm planning to create a game with Unity with my friend. I want to use Autodesk Maya to make 3D-models. In the future, when we succeed in making our original game,we'd like to participate in the competitions or make it public on the Internet as a free-game in order to hear opinions from others and reflect their evaluation information on our learning.

Would it be acceptable to do our plan? One of the competitions we're aiming as a goal would give the prize for the winner. May we take part in such a competition?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi!

"Software and cloud-based services subject to an Educational license of entitlement may be used solely for purposes directly related to learning, training, research or development. The software and cloud-based services cannot be used for commercial, professional or any other for-profit purposes."

Please keep in mind that even using platforms like Youtube would be a problem as these are money-driven platforms even if the money is made "only" by advertising.

Also professional competitions in general use commercial advertising in some way.

If you really want to make the game public and use in in different areas like competitions i recommend to get a commercial licenses for Maya LT or Maya Indie (the later may not be available in your region, but Maya LT should work fine with Unity and costs far less than "full" Maya)

With a commercial license you are free to use the content wherever you want, also making money with this game would then be no problem.
