I can see the posts, but they've been "spam-trapped" - don't ask me why. I'll report the problem and see if we can get it fixed.

thank you for the reply, Mr. Steve. Here is some progress about my problem, I can't reply to that question so i have to reply here. If it isn't too difficult, could you please put it to that thread? Thanks.

I just realized the /usr/lib is for 32 bit linux. On 64 bit arch common today, it is /usr/lib64. i further confirmed this by running objdump -p /usr/lib/libXp.so.6.2.0, the returned results clearly show that libXp.so.6.2.0 in /usr/lib/ installed by yum install libXp.so.6 is 32 bit. When i run yum install libXp, maya will not complain any more.

PS: is there any list or scripts that can pre-install all these prerequisit packages in a single run without requiring users have to install them one by one? i have installed libpng12, libGL, and this libXp, and there are libtifff waiting ... it's too time-consuming!

After a sleepless night, i finally have maya run on linux, so happy!

Seriously, i think autodesk should put a script in the install dir, say, ./setup.sh, that installs all prerequisit libs and then call ./setup. It is really not a good experience for linux newbie to install maya on a clean centos, although i have to say, it can let one learnt a lot about linux.

Looks like both of your missing threads have returned. I would suggest you repost the above info to one of those threads - the other can then be deleted, and this one (which is a forum issue and therefore in the wrong forum) can be moved to where it should be.
