Maya Icons names

Hello Community,

I customize the Shelfs in Maya 2015 with basic Maya Tools. Every tool in the Tool Box (Last Tool) have their own Icon.

I try to find the Icons for the Shelf. The "Icon Manager" in Maya is horrible and the Names of the Icons are annoying.

Example:

Offset Edge Tool, command: DuplicateEdge

What is the name of the Icon?

I search the Icon Directory on my harddrive to have a better look but the  Icons are xmp files -.-

Exist on web an dictionary vor the icon names?

Or how you would solve the problem?

Thanks

I would make my own icon in photoshop 32x32 pixels bmp, jpg and png are supported...then replace in the shelf.

put all icons in the Icons folder in preferences.

Hello damaggio,

thanks for your fast answer, I had suspected that this is the only solution. I had the hope that someone has a better idea.

It is stupid because the Icons are in Maya. Smiley Frustrated

Autodesk should give the icons the names of the tools or the command. Or better,  improve the Manager.

With a little try and error, I think I see a system in the icons.

A big step forward is that all polygontools icons have the prefix: poly

Offset Edge Tool > polyDuplicateEdgeLoop.png

Insert Edge Tool > polySplitEdgeRing.png

Split Polygon Tool > polySplitFacet.png

....

The Problem is the Filter. It is not very helpfull because it search only in row.

Faster solution:
Hold [STRG] + [SHIFT] and click on the command in the menu. Maya create a Icon with all settings in the open shelf Smiley Very Happy
