First off, i've seen just about every tut on pivots i can get my hands on it seems, but what i haven't found is how to center an object's pivot after it's been, say, cut in half (i.e. after deleting half of it). I've tried everything (like hit "Center Pivot" a hundred times) and the pivot manipulator stays or keeps going back to the original center point before it was cut in half, as if Maya still 'sees' the whole object.
I've tried deleting history and freezing transformations, yet nothing. Sure i could hit D and just drag or snap the pivot to the center, but that's not the point (NPI); besides, that would be hard to do if it was a complex object. So why is something so simple so hard to do in Maya? Much thanks to anyone for ANY help..
