Whenever I load a file in maya 2019, all the Vertices in my models a showing. It's kind of annoying everytime I load a file, is there anyway to turn this off?

Hi!

Check your settings for "Polygons" in Preferences (Vertices -> Display).

You can also try:

Windows -> Settings/Preferences -> Preferences -> Edit -> Restore Default Settings

or

Rename the folder prefs in folder 2019 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything, the folder 2019 to 2019_backup (or even the maya folder to maya_backup). Maya creates new folders (don't copy preferences from previous Maya versions). Detailed at:

I tried this just now, and it spits out this error in the command box:

# Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2019/scripts/startup/updatePrefWndUI.mel line 64: AssertionError: file C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2019\Python\lib\site-packages\maya\plugin\evaluator\CacheUiPreferencesTab.py line 175:

I installed Maya 2019 on a new computer, There wasn't a previous version to update.

Hi!

"I tried this just now, and it spits out this error in the command box:"

What did you try and after what step does this show up?

Try a reset of all preferences.
In your user documents folder, rename maya folder to maya_backup
