User directory issues!

I have an issue when opening Maya 2022. Every time i open the software i get a notification that a user directory is not chosen and i need to allocate one. After i've done this the program works fine. but when i start the software again it asks for the same thing. it also doesn't remember my custom settings because of it. 

i've reinstalled the software multiple times but the issue doesn't go away.

doen anyone have any ideas on potential solutions?

Was your Maya installed with full administrative privileges?

The default location of your user data is C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\maya\20XX\prefs, so make sure you have permissions to make changes there.
