I recently jumped back to learning Maya and have begun following along some online instructional videos with a 30 day trial of Maya 2020, until I can enroll in a program and get a student license.
With that said, I still have a lot to learn and will always be jumping to troubleshoot errors like these even if they aren't necessarily preventing me from what I happen to be working on. But I was curious as to why this error keeps popping up whenever I open scene files included with the videos I am following along. I am running this on a Dell XPS 15 9570 Laptop with the following GPU
Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with Max-Q Design
Warning: GPU RENDERING NOT SUPPORTED: Unable to Load Optix library, NVIDIA Driver 397.93 is either too old or missing the Optix library
You dont told us which GPU do you have?
Whoops. My bad, i seemed to have failed to insert that text.
Just edited the post.
Do you have installed the latest drivers for this card?
And make sure Maya is starting with the nvidia card.
Plus: you wont get happy with such a weak graphics card and GPU rendering.
I had the same Problem, here is the solution I found, hope this helps!!
