I'm new to Maya, but not 3d. Been a Lightwave user for years. Anyway, I keep hitting something and ending up with a menu item like the channel box or the hypershade window occupying the whole top half of the screen. I can't resize it, can't move it. The only thing I can do is turn it off, until I need it again. I haven't been able to figure out what I'm hitting to end up that way or how to undo it. Help.
Thanks, that fixed the problem. Now I have another problem...I'm following a simple tutorial and trying to adjust the position of some vertices and instead of just the single selected vertice moving a whole group of them move. It's like there's an area of influence affecting the surrounding vertices and all the vertices within that influence move with it.
