Hi!
I've been trying to get an audio that I edited in the Time Editor in a playblast, but no matter what I try or what combination of flags I use in my playblast command, the audio is always different.
Here's the steps to reproduce it, from an empty scene:
- import audio node
- drag/drop node in TimeEditor
- duplicate the TE clip and offset one by just a bit (so to hear some sort of echo)
- delete the original audio node: only the TimeEditor clips are in the scene now
- scrub the timeline: I can hear the echoed sound in real time (yay)
- run cmds.playblast(format="qt"). I tried with all combinations of combineSound=True/False, useTraxSounds=True/False, sound='name of TE clip/track/group'
In none of the cases, I heard the combined sounds of the Time Editor in the playblast.
What I noticed however, is that I could hear the tracks from the Time Editor, just one at a time. As if in - in case of overlapping tracks - the top track in the composition took precedence over the tracks below (although @mspeer who helped me test this reported having the lower track take precedence), instead of being added/combined to the tracks below.
I don't know if I'm missing something, but this seems like a bug to me... or at least something that would be great to have sorted out in the upcoming releases 🙂
One more note: when there are sounds in the Time Editor, those can't be turned off the same way as one can do for Trax Sounds or regular audio clips from the 'audio' menu on the time slider. It would be great to have this option added in the future, to consistently choose what audio source one wants to have enabled in their scene.
Thanks!
