I Can't be the only one that has found this and is now issue with paying for a program that no long works wiht 3d printing...

The problem is with the scaling of the STL file OBJ just completely errors. Will add to pictures; two from Maya and the other from the slicer program...

in the first pic you will notice the radius is 1.5 or 3 inches in Diameter and yea I changed the windows preference to inches and saved the setup...which is the second pic

last is the size of it in the Prusa program... and Yes i also tried it in Utlimaker Slicer with the same ending this did nto happen with 2016 maya... so please add plug in Dev team..

OBJ files dont store any unit settings. Just numbers.
I dont get what the issue is.

If you don't do any 3d printing, scaling is must. When you enter the STL file into the slicing program the size is not there and for a 1.5 inch radius piece shows up as less then a half inch total. I can not print it to specification because the  specs are not there, So the prototype or any side job I work on will not match the real world piece... Now for movies and films and what not;  you all can wing that and scale to fit a room or scene. But in the real world a bolt has to fit the right size whole for thing to line up. For what ever reason the size is not in the file any more. As for the  obj file, it use to be the back up, if the STL did not work you could use it...(2016 Maya) But, now that file crashes any slicer when you import it in. I am thinking i will have to use AutoCAD and learn that program now...

As i said above OBJ does not store units. If you import it into your slicer just scale it to the right unit.

If the object is crashing upload the maya file here and we can take a look whats wrong with the geo.
