When I installed my Maya, I must've accidentally set up the "user >document > maya" file where the default project is along with the script and prefs files into my Onedrive document file as a default. I could go in settings and change the default directory to my local C drive but it won't remember that because the saved setting is under the onedrive Maya file so if I delete that onedrive  Maya file it will create a new one back in onedrive every time I open Maya. I haven't come across major issues yet as I create new projects in another drive and can save my work but sometimes Maya freaks out not knowing where to output logs and files (well that what I think is happening) and prompts Autodesk crash report. It doesn't affect my saved scenes but I  know it's going to give me trouble down the line.

Hello @17104890,

I would suggest to reset the Maya user preferences: How to reset the Maya Preferences to Default.

If you are starting Maya after resetting the user prefs, choose "Use Default Preferences":

This should create a new default project at C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\maya.

If this does not work, create a new project at File > Project Window:

After resetting the preferences, the current project should be set to "default" when opening the project window.

However, you can browse to any desired folder and then click on "New" to create a project there. After creating the project, close the Project Window and go to File > Set Project and set the folder with the new created project. Maya should remind this folder.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Patrick
